New Features & Improvements Summary

We are pleased to announce the release of an experimental firmware version 1.006.00 for UP Phone. This update introduces several significant enhancements:

• Introduced a Secure Device Wipe feature for enhanced security (a.k.a Nuke PIN code)

• Added Always On Display (AOD) functionality.

• Implemented the capability to generate true random numbers.

• Improved organization of application names and their folders.

• Updated the UI for UP Privacy’s blocked alerts.

These updates aim to enhance user experience, security, and overall functionality.

Bugs Summary

This update addresses several important issues:

• Resolved the appearance of the Google screen during the addition of an eSIM or additional eSIM on the UP Phone.

  • It’s important to note that the appearance of the Google screen is only a cosmetic issue and not a functional, data, or code-related issue.

• Corrected the Factory Reset text to remove any references to Google.

• Enhanced the UP Privacy feature by reworking the text and buttons in the blocked pop-up message to improve clarity and user experience.

These enhancements reinforce our commitment to maintaining a streamlined and privacy-focused user experience.

Maintenance Work Summary

In this release, we have integrated several key enhancements:

• Preparation for microG integration with the addition of three dummy apps.

• Implementation of secure signature spoofing and patch for microG.

• Enhanced app update process, including pulling preloaded apps from GitHub and updating APK libraries.

• Removal of unwanted emojis from iOS Messenger and UP Phone/Messenger.

• Established robust production workflows including OTA Beta uploads, production version build and push, tagging, and version incrementing.
